CTF President Makes the Case for Acquisition of Silver Springs Forest

In the Ocala Star Banner, November 8, Susan Carr shares the story of the Silver Springs Forest property purchase in the works. She explains that the “unfolding story of its acquisition is a prime example of what can happen when a conservation land becomes available for purchase.”

Carr further notes that conservation groups have long recognized this property as a priority for resource conservation and wildlife habitat because of role as a connector between Silver Springs State Park, Indian Lake State Forest and the Ocala National Forest.

Carr states that she believes that Floridians understand that a balance of rational growth with environmental sustainability are essential to a healthy economy. She also stressed Floridian’s role in shaping the future of Florida’s urban and wild landscapes. Read the full article.
