In an Ocala Star Banner Editorial, November 12, the writer opens with “The proposed purchase of the 4,900-acre tract known as the Silver Springs Forest is an environmental and economic coup that cannot be allowed to fail.” The author goes on to describe the role of the property in water recharge and springs protection. They explain that this acquisition would “add the missing link in a chain of public properties that includes the Ocala National Forest, the Cross Florida Greenway, Silver Springs State Park and Indian Lake State Forest.”  Read the full article.
